Sorry if I sound harsh, but words mean things--and you are using the words of Democrats.Precisely.

Thank you, EV!! EXCELLENT article.....well reasoned, logical, and beautifully written.
The contrast between President Bush and xlinton grows more astounding every day. The assertion, suntsu that there is any parallel between the two administrations, or that Bush is merely 'better than Gore' is preposterous on its face, and the conjecture that this White House runs on polls doesn't square with any of the facts.
If President Bush had been poll-driven, the now liberated Iraqi's would still be living in a torture chamber.

I support the re-election of GW too BUT, you aint seen nothing yet. After the demoncRATS get done with the economy and the aftermath of the war with Iraq, I am afraid that GW will be, like his dad, a one-term president. Like in 1992, politics at its best (or worst depending on whether you looking left or right) GW will be viewed as a guy out of touch, brought to you by your favorite media......

In Memory of the Prison Artist
"Locked within the tyrant's cell
Powerless to escape this hell
Stripped of all humanity
With no way out, no way to flee
The things I once thought somehow mattered
Now utterly worthless, illusion shattered
All I think of now are my children and wife
More important to me than my very life
My imprisonment has forced me to measure
To recognize my only treasure"

First, EV, many thanks for an eloquent call to arms for our party and people.
Amused, I think it would be a good idea for you to write a vanity as EV has requested. I strongly suspect there is a serious lack of knowledge about what the Patriot Acts contain and their potential for erosion of our freedoms. If the case against these acts was better understood, I think, as EV does, that you would get significant support here.
That being said, I'm sure a Democratic President would be equally happy to support similar acts in wartime, so I don't think you should base your vote on that one specific issue. Think about Hillary Clinton's "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" and consider how much she would love to suppress our free speech rights if she felt she could get away with it.

Thanks you for posting this, EV. I also have much appreciated your poems which I have seen posted on several threads.
Your support of the president is much appreciated. Happy Palm Sunday!

I won't argue that Bush has spent more money than any Conservative would like, but the statements you made that he is not much better than Clinton or Gore are absurd.
You generously (/sarcasm) allowed that he was better morally than xlinton, but if you care about such conservative concerns as the military, national defense, abortion, taxes, AND 2nd amendment rights......just to name a few......you CANNOT state that he is merely better than xlinton by virtue of his morality.
And using one man's opinion (DiIulio) about his being poll driven against all the obvious facts doesn't cut it. Sorry. You're wrong.

>>>With all my heart, I want every Democrat lie and distortion to be met with a furious blitz of rebuttal and refutation between now and the election. That's what Free Republic is all about.
The question isn't whether PresBush will win re-election. The question is, just how large a margin of victory will Bush have. The economy will definitely be in a serious rebound cycle and should be growing at a consistent rate of 3%-5% per month by mid-2004. That means BIG trouble for Democrats and a BIG victory for PresBush.
