Daley: 'The president was right'

Never mind that the Chicago City Council went on record in January opposing the war in Iraq.
The unforgettable image of Saddam Hussein's statue being pulled down in a giddily liberated Baghdad was enough to convince Mayor Daley that Operation Iraqi Freedom was justified.
"This type of action proves the president was right. The people there--and I hope everyone understands that--they want some form of democracy," the mayor said.
"All the sudden, they're out there praising [coalition forces] in celebration. They lived under this type of regime. It shows you the president was right."
On Jan. 16, Chicago climbed aboard an anti-war bandwagon that already included San Francisco, Baltimore, Detroit and Seattle after last-minute tinkering to appease squeamish aldermen.
It was Daley's change of heart that allowed the resolution to go through and paved the way for Chicago to become the largest city in the nation to go on record in opposition to the war.
Although he now believes President Bush was right, Daley would not go so far as to admit the City Council was wrong.
"Everybody is against war. The resolution was more against war and everybody is against war," he said.

And he's been right for a long time. I wonder if these lib/dems who thought he was lying to them can point to a long history of Bush lies? No, of course not. Unlike the last President, it isn't his pattern or style.
However, it is apparently the pattern and style of lib/dems to assume Bush lies. Clearly they are as dumb as they look.

The more I read about what happened when our Marines entered Baghdad, the more the event really does approach the level of the Berlin wall collapse. And those who oppose this war would be like pathetic lost souls trying to replace, brick by brick, the wall in Berlin!

Worse than that, they would have Saddam and Sons back in the torture, maiming, rape, and murder business. The libs are beyond shameful.....

"Everybody is against war. The resolution was more against war and everybody is against war," he said.
Liberals can tell you in GREAT DETAIL all the things they don't want but ask them what they want........and there is silence.

"Everybody is against war. The resolution was more against war and everybody is against war," he said. This is the new template for back-tracking........ "Gee, we just meant that we don't like war in general".

Isn't this the same giuy who snuck into the airport in the middle of the night to hack holes in the runway so he wouldn't have to negotiate ?

"All the sudden, they're out there praising [coalition forces] in celebration. They lived under this type of regime. It shows you the president was right." Perhaps there is hope after all. And perhaps Pelosi really is committing political suicide. May it be.

Never mind that the Chicago City Council went on record in January opposing the war in Iraq. Never mind that Mayor Daley demolished the runways of Chicago's only General Aviation airport under the cover of darkness on April 1st while the rest of America was watching the War in Iraq. I guess Daley os envious of a leadership that can arrest, torture and exicute with impunity, or what ever it would take to keep the electorate in line.
