Ex-President Bill Clinton blamed Republicans for the boos he got Wednesday night at a birthday concert for country singer Willie Nelson at New York's Beacon Theater.
"The place went wild when [Clinton] was announced," reports Friday's New York Post Page Six. "There was loud booing and yelling."
Several callers to WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg Show who attended the event described the scene afterward. One quoted the ex-prez as complaining, "I see the Republicans are here tonight."
Another saw a fellow concertgoer who stood up, booed and gave Clinton the finger - prompting security to escort him out of the hall.
The Post confirmed Clinton's Republican comment, adding that he "seemed angered" at his reception.
The remark riled the crowd so much, said the paper, that when Nelson returned to the stage, he asked if everyone was all right.
The concert was taped for a Memorial Day airing on the USA network. "No way will they include the Clinton booing in the broadcast," predicted Malzberg.
Listen to Steve Malzberg in his new time slot on WABC, 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. ET weeknights, 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Sundays.

Can you even imagine someone doing this [flipping the bird] to Bush Sr., Reagan, Ford, or Carter? Perhaps the latter.

Tell that to the tolerant, unprejudiced liberals who booed the Boy Scouts at the Democrat National Convention. Or the ones who spit on the honor guard at the New York State convention.

I wonder what happened to freedom of speech? It's okay to burn the flag, but it's not okay to show your disdain for a lying, cheating, impeached SOB? What's this country coming to anyway?

This debunks the conventional wisdom that the U.S. people still have this residual love for Clinton. They don't. They were ready for him to GO in 2001. They elected him twice because of his immense political skills and because we had two weak candidates and Ross Perot screwing up the works, and once he was in there they backed him and they didn't want him impeached or tossed out of office based on the charges that he faced. But IMHO, the U.S. people aside from the far left fringe were tired of him and ready for him to be gone in 2001, and wish he would shut up now.
I don't think the name "Clinton" carries any weight now except with the media, the far left fringe and folks who will never vote for a conservative anyway. That's why ... and I know there are folks here who disagree with me and who see her eeeeevill hand in everything and are worried about her being behind every corner ... I've never been more convinced of anything in my life as I am of the fact that Hillary Clinton has ZERO chance of ever being elected president of the United States.

"The 'Clinton Legacy', or what was left of it, was hanging on with the toppled Saddam statue "
Come to think of it...that statue sort of resembled clinton, at that.

Clinton should limit his appearances to Madonna and Dixie Chicks concerts. That's where his supporters will be found.

Keep in mind the axiom - what goes round, comes round. If you feel it's fine & dandy to boo a former POTUS you don't like (maybe even applaud the booing) don't be so two-faced to complain when it happens to a former POTUS you happen to like & admire. Civility is dead & I mourn it's passing.Nonsense.
I think it is fine and dandy to boo someone who is as low as a person can be and sows seeds of hate and dissension wherever he goes. Lying about his tenure, and undermining the current administration at every opportunity.
If someone were to boo a POTUS, former or current, who is honorable, decent, kind and wise, then I will determine the booer is deserving of my scorn.

Civility is dead & I mourn it's passing.Clinton himself killed it. Throughout his administration he, with the able assistance of Cruella de Hill(ary), divided and set people against one another with zeal and glee--turned it into an art form.
