CNN's Liberal co-founder 'thanks' Bush and Rumsfeld
MeandTed.com ^ | Reese Schonfeld

Reese Schonfeld, CNN's liberal co-founder wrote this interesting piece in his blog:

This is a day to offer thanks and congratulations to George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, and Tony Blair. (Don’t ask me to thank all the fighting men who have so bravely etc., etc., etc. I leave that to the all-news networks, which seem never to get a paragraph out without including that sentence. Those significant sentiments should be saved for the likes of a Gettysburg address, and the words that express them should be neither trite nor fatuous.) My thanks and congratulations go to Bush and Rumsfeld for their courage and tenacity. They have withstood second guessers (I wanted them to get started a month earlier), taken the heat, and then beat the heat to the streets of Baghdad.

The war is not yet over, and I believe that this war and other wars like it will have to be fought for a long time yet. But, we have a President and a Defense Department that seem willing to take on the task and to them we owe our thanks and congratulations.

If this is the same guy I'm thinking of, he's been on Fox several times, with O'Reilly and Cavuto. For what its worth, he didn't come across like a liberal and hasn't been involved in CNN daily matters for 20 years! And I don't think he see's eye to eye with Turner either.

well it depends on the way you look at it. I have read some liberal rants on his blog before and he uses the word "right-wing" a ton of times in his book. He says that when he meet Ted Turner he didn't know he was "so right-wing"

I dunno. I smell a rat here somewhere. Note how he ends with a statement about how "...I believe that this war and other wars like it will have to be fought for a long time yet." Sounds like damning with faint praise. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'm considering the source.
