Hollywood celebs may not quite be pro-Saddam, but there's one tyrant they love.
Friday, April 11, 2003 12:01 a.m.
Thousands of jubilant Iraqis, ready for a brand-new beat, dance in the street to celebrate the toppling of a brutal dictator whose tyranny has lasted 24 years but not 24 hours more. Preoccupied with the dramatic image of a noose around Saddam's neck as he is dragged to the ground in Baghdad's al-Fardous square (a 20-foot metal statue of Saddam, that is), the world largely overlooks the news of another dictator, Cuba's Fidel Castro, so far besting the Iraqi tyrant's run by 20 years and counting.

Nobody swims to Cuba, but nobody in Hollywood realizes why.

Castro is the Hollywood Reds favorite dictator. They never met an Anti-American dictator they didn't like. Where's Joe McCarthy when you need him?

Why is this thug still the darling of the media elite? Why is it so unwilling to protest his dictatorial moves? Drugs?

What is Cuban military like?
I would imagine in another 5 or so years when we have proven everyone wrong about our imperialistic desires...we should role this place over too...
The leftists will go insane not having their favorite leftist bastion a stones throw away....to lament and champion...
It would seem that Cuba could go down with minimal work...

I guess it is now "in" for the Hollywood anti-war crowd to promote and exalt dictators. They never met a dictator they did not worship, they hate war, on and on.
They hate war because it kills. Just what do they think a dictator does but kill to retain power? Just how do they think those dictators gain power? Could it be they come in, torture and rule the population with terror and then allow no freedom for dissent?
Could it be that the lack of an uprising and "war" allows any and all dictators to stay in power.
Guess the Hollywood crowd feels they are part of the "dictator" elite that sees no problem with repressing the mere populace. You know - those earning fame however they obtain it - are so far superior than those lowies merely living lives filled with character, honor, work.
Guess it will get to the point that I have no respect for any entertainer and will just have to seek other sources for my entertainment dollars.
Maybe, Americans will turn away from these anti-American airheads and they will find they cannot survive in America and will have to move to one of the dictatorships to succeed. Then they will truly love the dictator as they turn over their freedom to be able to enjoy their fame status. Pure justice.
They have not fought for freedom and therefore they do not value freedom. If they have not fought to ensure freedom, they do not deserve it.

These Hollywood types are a very impressionable lot. All it takes is a little charisma and a lot of power (which Castro has), and they'll eat out of your hand. Character (which Castro hasn't), on the other hand, means abosolutely nothing.

Resting hopefully in peace in Appleton, Wisconsin. I'm thinking of taking flowers to his grave. McCarthy was right and someday he will be vindicated.

There ARE some good things about Communism, at least, for those who survive it. Hey, when was the last time you got a ride in a Studebaker?
