I just saw an amazing clip I hadn't seen before. Showed a GI being taken away on a stretcher by four others...shooting his gun all the way! Talk about covering their backs. That guy was NOT going to leave this game softly!

During that same fire-fight one guy (higher in rank) kept shooting while the medic was cleaning his shrapnel wounds - his left leg just flopped around. Stunning bravery and courage.

I saw that video this morning, and Lester Holt asked the cameraman (David Green, I think - I believe he was Bloom's cameraman before he died) did the soldier shooting his shotgun from the stretcher hit what he was aiming at. The cameraman replied... "yes, both times".

I saw that about the GI in the stretcher and keeping watch over his brothers who are helping him. It was awesome!

Another marine in that unit was bleeding badly, the medic was trying to cut open his pant leg and the marine kept moving away and found a place to shoot at the enemy....kept firing all the while.
