Lots of pixels to be refreshed, and your 'puter is having to process the incoming stream all the while. Better video cards do more of the work, more memory lets it happen faster, and a 2.0Ghz+ CPU will let you run two (Real and WMP) at a time without noticing it...

If you've got anything else running that hogs cycles (i.e., Seti), it might help to shut it down (although Seti is really good at staying out of the way...).

Watch your hard disk light -- if it's flashing a lot, shut down some apps or get more memory; it could be using the disk as "fake" RAM, if you don't have enough or other applications are using too much of it.

Bloody fingers. :-((

would love to know what that guy on Alalam tv Iran is saying. They do have a scrolling English bar across the bottom.

I bought a new Pentium 4 in January. I can have two webcams going, plus TV on my video tuner card and two browsers running, etc and it doesn't phase my MSI 648 MAX mainboard and nVIDIA gforce4 video card.

Sufferers of this afflication gather at democraticunderground.com to spew venomous lies at the USA, without any tolerance for truth or reason.

... or FReepers. If you post there, anything reasoned or slightly pro-American, you'll be banned in a heartbeat.

Note for the future, we switch over at about 11 pm central time each night.

Eventually, the old one gets locked off.

I saw Susan Saradan spewing on a talk show and she actually is really PO'D at Hilary. Sounded like she is not supporting Hillary due to Hill supporting the Iraqi War.

Back to the war for a minute

Radio station ( I have no idea which one it is) has a congressman talking in depth about the intelligence about Syria's connections to Iraq and that Iraq transfered WMD to syria for safekeeping and they are harboring Iraqi folk.... and, most importantly are intending to provide the terrorist groups in Syria with the WMD from Iraq. So..... the congressman is submitting a bill to severely restrict Syria activity - much more than just economic sanctions. Bills are being introduced in both houses.

Syria is next, folks.

I'm not sure about this, but I've been told you can get internet service from some direct satellite services. Not the greatest, but faster than modem and near DSL.

Mine has a Pentium 4 also. I didn't realize that was what was making the difference. I haven't found anything that can slow it down. Breath of fresh air after my way too full and very old laptop...may it RIP. :-)

Bill is being called the "Syrian Accountability act" - same language in both houses, then to the president for approval. oh good. More war on terror - on their land, not ours.

Israel is gonna like this.

The 750 mhz is okay...but I'd go 256 or 528 mb ram. It's pretty cheap normally.

But I'm not good at this stuff, so I myself went to the side of "more is better".

Yes, I've checked them all. SAT ISP want you to pop for about $500 of equipment and 1 year committment. They also throttle you down if you download to much.

No thanks.

Waiting on wireless, 802.11 to build up here enough.

two webcams going

If you've got a Linux box on your local network, and a decent X Server, you can run another webcam and window it on your Windows box :-). I've got that happening now -- wish I'd done it a couple of weeks ago...
