Oklahoma City was in 1995, 4 years after Desert Storm when the Republican Guard was a household phrase. Small detail, but seemed out of place.

Yes, and it doesn't answer your question but both during and after Desert Storm Saddam Hussein was very vocal (I had an entire video tape full of his threats) saying that he was going to unleash his "agents" to attack America and American interests.

I remember that very clearly. It seems those threats never happened as far as the media and others are concerned.

...saying that he was going to unleash his "agents" to attack America and American interests.

And not just America, but the "heart of America."

Which is interesting because depending on the map, either Denver or Oklahoma City would constitute the "heart," IMO. Actually, Wichita would be the "true" heart on one map I had, but Oklahoma City is twice as big and just 160 miles south. (Versus Denver at 500 or so miles nw/w away.)

For whatever that's worth...
