An intelligence source says that United States Defence Secetary Donald Rumsfeld last week ordered the drawing up of contingency plans for a possible invasion of Syria, New York Newsday reported Thursday.
According to the newspaper's website, Undersecretary of Defence Douglas Ferth is working on a policy paper highlighting how the nation of Syria's support of terrorist groups is a threat to the region.
But the newspaper also reported that a senior Pentagon officer said he was unaware of any new planning involving Syria.
Secretary Rumsfled said Wednesday that Syria had allowed Iraqi regieme figures to enter the nation and provided Iraq with military technology.

Imagine the skeletons that'll come out of the closet should the US invade Syria......
That would be a major blow to terrorism the world over, considering Damascus is the Terror capital of the world, it might be a good idea.

The Canadians are way ahead of you on this and have been acting pre-emtively through psy-ops for years. What do you think the primary tasking of Secret Agent 1 is, if not to keep the American forces demorized, confused and pacified? (I can't give you his name, but his initials are Peter Jennings--Do'h--I can't believe I revealed this, now it's off to the gulag at Moose Factory.) Remember Lorne Greene? Canadian. Green Card, Lorne Greene....coincidence? I think not. We're everywhere man. Shania Twain is our Mata Hari....

The 4th ID is pissed because they missed most of the battle, and are no doubt spoiling for a fight. Maybe Rummy has just the deal for them . . .

4ID has nothing to do. Why not send them across the desert and take down Syria? Latest Reports have them slated to take Tikrit, Saddam's home town, and aparently made up mostly of his cousins and other family members.

Excellent.
It is important and necessary to do that, since much of Saddam's WMD has been taken over and is in Syria now. Since our main objective is to eliminate WMD in the hands of terrorists or government supporting terrorists, if the WMD are now in Syria, we have to go in there to find them and clean that place up.
To: Gefreiter
And we also have these spare MOAB-s handy, which they don't think will need in Iraq. It would be a shame to carry them all back unused.

I hope some day to see the Lebanese danse in the streets, finally liberated from Syria.
To: humblegunner
Exactly, I have said this ever since we went in there, if Syria helps Iraq, they are next.
Assad,
THeres a message here from Mr. Bush.
Wanna come out and play with the big dogs?
We are right next door, and our toys are all there too.
You wanted to help Saddam? You sent weapons over the border, you gave aid and confort to the high ranking Iraqis in the Baath party, you are toast.
You failed the smell test, now the last thing you will see is a tomahawk coming through your window.
IDIOT!!! Rummy gave you a number of warnings, he told you to stay out of it, you just couldn't do that, could you?
I hope your Arab pride can handle getting your A$$ handed to you, and kicked up around your shoulder blades.
You guys thought that Israel humiliated you? You ain't seen NOTHING yet!!

I suspect Rumsfeld already had a plan for invading Syria. Probably just putting the finishing touches on it.
About time. Go get 'em.
