WASHINGTON -- Concerned that they might not recoup their $10 million fee paid to the former President for the rights to his memoirs, Knopf stunned the publishing world Tuesday by announcing plans to publish the Presidential Memoir in the unflattering 'novelty' category -- as a pop-up book.
"Its such a natural" said Rick Klembeth, Editorial Director of the novelty division for Knopf. "After reviewing the subject matter, it was a no-brainer. After all, so many of the Presidents deeply personal moments lend themselves to the pop-up format."
Klembeth gave reporters a sneak preview of the controversial approach. For instance, the chapter covering the Monica Lewinsky scandal visually assaults the reader with a 7.5 inch cardboard _____ rendering that curves severely to the left. However, the book's interactive element is what has Clinton's PR firm most peeved. On pages 17-18, the book asks the reader_______ _________ _________. ______, _______ ______ .
"This is way beyond the boundaries of good taste," said the former president. "I did say I would address some of the more personal issues but I was promised many pages to explore these subjects. It is disgusting that they have taken a 146 page memoir entry and distilled it down to one appalling image. It's reprehensible."
"He's incorrect. We've actually devoted two other large fold-out sections to the Lewinsky scandal. We have the Cigar pop out on a wonderfully visual double-truck layout...so real you can almost smell the smoke! And then we have a very clever interactive fold-out that covers the President's tormented decision to lie the American People: The President's nose actually gets longer as you read the text. It's brilliant."
Apparently the President isn't impressed. He is considering suing the New York City publishing house, though sources close to the President admit he can't afford the $10 million fee, "He needs it to pay for all his other lawsuits."
The President's threatened legal action is not the only lawsuit facing Knopf; Paula Jones is apparently considering filing suit as well.
Her nose pops-up on page 16 of the Clinton Memoir even though Miss Jones' nose no longer resembles the image due to her recently well-publicized rhinoplasty. "I spent a lot of money on this, and to think that they would have my old nose flinging out of the book, _______ ______is just wrong.
What do I have to do for people to see me as the new Paula?"
I hope they include an interactive fold-out of Hitlery.......reading FBI files.

Lampoon. I was wondering what they're up to lately. Think I'll surf the link for a bit.
Put some ice on it.
Although, I was already pretty familiar with NatLampCo. Used to take the magazine, back when P J O'Rourke was one of the editors.
I bet those pages get stuck together.

The Clinton family portrait will be included in the book. That's young
Roger Clinton left, with his and Bill's mother, and his father, Bill, right.
If she writes a pack of lies, it won't sell. If she writes a tell-all, the Feds'll be on her case.
Yikes, what a dilemma for Hitlery. Heheh.
Bill is the victim here.
Clinton will sue his publishers for attempting to force him to write a book, and for having
the audacity to dictate unconscionable contractual terms that clearly violate Bill's civil and constitutional rights.
As the victim , Bill will not only keep the $10M but will collect several million more in damages.
