I think he might have the right conclusion for exactly the wrong reasons.

The U.S. victory and determination in the face of widespread opposition sends a very powerful message -- don't screw with the U.S. The effect of that message may be to decrease the support of some Arab governments for terrorism. Simply put, they don't want to be next on our list.

A decrease in support for terrorism may increase the Israeli sense of security. That may make them more willing to compromise because they may actually believe that withdrawal from the West Bank could lead to peace.

Our determination in Iraq will add credibility to whatever threats or pressure Bush brings against either side in the Palestinian conflict. Again, don't mess with Dubya.

Finally, our action in Iraq and the continued presence of U.S. troops in Iraq may create some problems in the Arab world. One way to minimize them is to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Bush may really start to bring pressure to bear to solve that problem because he knows it will aid our efforts in Iraq.

The bottom line is that I really think this war increases the prospect of Arab-Israeli peace. But not for the reasons given by the author.

There's no solving this conflict. It's clearly written in the PLO Charter that their goal is to destroy Israel, for Godssakes. And it's not just a few terrorists in Hamas and Islamic Jihad that are messing things up for everyone else. The majority of Palestinians - a very young population - have been inculcated with the sentiments and ideology of these nutballs, courtesy of their terrorist-financed "education" system.

History offers that view -- that there is some "solution" to the Israel-Palestinian conflict -- no backing. None. Zero, Zilch. Nada.

Israel is Palestine. Palestine is what the Romans named it when they vanquished the free state of Israel. What is called "Palestine" -- a mock, a propaganda-name -- today has NO reason for existence, no self-purpose, except to be a thorn and even a destroyer of Jews and Israel. It is a welfare state -- totally -- and it's welfare is due to blood money given to it in the hope that it's grammar schools and culture of hatred will kill Jews everywhere and destory Israel. Not only the bloody Arab Oil money, but also the money our jakes and State Department throw at it -- like raw entrails thrown to junkyard dogs from over the fence.

The borders of Israel are ordained by G-d, and only misery to be had when man trucks with them. The Palestinians can find a homeland, but in the ten thousand time greater acreage of Arabia and North Africe. Only hate and murderous impulse gives them vitaly there in Israel, and that is not a thing any good man or woman should support for one millisecond, ever.

Two days ago we conquered the Abu Nidal Group's trainging camp in Iraq. Abu was Yasser Arafat's hireling and bosom buddy -- both of them apt students of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem last century. The Grand Mufti who ordered the slaughter of Jews in Hebron, to cleanse -- by murder, by extermination, Jews from "Palestine". Hebron is now considered -- vile that consideration -- part of "Occupied Terriory in the West Bank" It was taken by a most brutal and vicious campaign of murder against civilians. That was the first baby step iof the Nazi Holocaust -- for the Grand Mufti grabbed Hitler's ear in the thirties and explained that it's not enough to meerly drive the Jews out of his German Reich -- but that it was better to utterly wipe-them out.

Abu Nidal and Yasser Arafat learned well from their master -- the master of all Palestian's today -- Abu went wioth his thugs and took over a cruise ship in the Mediterrean Sea. They took one man -- a frail, old man in a wheelchair -- and threw him into the Med, where he sunk below the water -- murdered. He was American. But they killed him because he was a Jew. So too, they signalled -- we will kill all Jews. We will wait for weak moments, for easy prey and fall on them, until every one is dead. Klinghoffer was American -- a war veteran.

That's the Palestians! They should be rewarded a state?

NO! Give them some tland distant from Israel, where perhaps there muderous impulse will be also distant from them. Never give them Israel, never think of it!

No one knows the future, but I know this is Bush's goal. My guess is that the roadmap includes American troops to guarantee Israeli security. Not because Israel can't defend itself, but because Americans have earned respect. Part of the package will include the dismantling of terrorist groups in Syria, by force if necessary.

The emerging Bush doctrine is that all terrorists everywhere are a threat to the United States, and contries that harbor them will be treated as enemies.
