I caught some of this segment.
Bill O'Reilly said that one of the winners was HILLARY ROTTEN CLINTON since she voted to support the war and then went silent for 60 days or so.
'Ol Hildabeast is positioning herself for bigger things.

Vice President Dick Cheney, in an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" on March 16th, said, "The read we get on the people of Iraq is there is no question but that they want to get rid of Saddam Hussein and they will welcome as liberators the United States when we come to do that."

Dick, you make a good point, but don't go overboard. That "...and I'm here to help you" is still crap, and the public still knows it. Restored faith in the civilians in control of the military (the military itself has always been held in our high regard) does not equate with restored faith in the rest of the mommy-state.

The Distrust of our U.S. Government...has now turned all the way over to where someone's saying 'I'm from the U.S. Government' really means something GOOD to the American People." I'm not sure I'd go that far...

1) The Losers of the Iraq War are the Liberal Democrats who will now have to hang
low for another 3 to 4 years, while the Democrat Center takes over the Party.
Hang low?
Now is the time to make sure the American public gets to hear LOUD AND CLEAR
that Pelosi, Daschle, and the "I support the war...hah!" Hillary ARE
the black heart and soul of the Democratic Party.
And by the way...where's the loud public outcry by leading Democratic Presidential
candidate Howard Dean about how this is a sad day?!
Come on Howard Dean, Pelosi, Daschle, and the rest of y'all...come out of your
communal weep-fest and let those EEEVVVIIILLL Republicans, US Military
Baby Killers (actually Baby Thrillers if you watch TV today) and the over 75 percent
of Americans standing behind the troops are ALL WRONG and BAD, BAD People.
Just the moral equivalents of Saddam.
Yep, that would be the way "to win the hearts and minds" of the American voters.
(ALOHA RONNIE...got your message about the release of Don Duong. At last I
respond...but it's been a busy day!)

I'm not so sure the moderate Democrats are going to be in the driver's seat. There's still fights to be fought and the Dems are very much a left-wing party at the moment. I expect to see a self-destructive Mondale/Dukakis sort of period for at least the next election cycle.
And Democrats don't have the lock on the media they used to have, and they don't control Congress. If they begin to lose their entrenched positions in the beuracracy and can't play Santa Claus they could really start to suffer.

Not good. This is the kind of crap you tend to hear prior to some Government power-play to coerce you into giving up more freedoms. Probably in the name of secury at home or something.
While we can certainly feel good about the outcome of the war so far, and about our excellent President, talk of government as being "good" is pretty scary IMHO. Look out.

I would not go so far as to say the "I'm from the government" is a good thing.
I had an adjusted gross income of $8900 last year (layed off and horrible tech sector) and owe the *^)$@)!!$ federal government $1560.
No the Federal government is not my friend.
At least I was born free.
