Well, since "make a claim and don't back it up" left...

A 6 month supply of oil for the U.S. that is used to "pooh pooh" ANWR would be 3.42 Billion barrels of oil.

Now, being the geniuses they are, I'm assuming they mean a "6 month supply" to equal the daily consumption of oil times 180 days. The U.S. currently consumes right at 19 million barrels a day.

Now, we import 11 million a day from foreign sources (9.9% Canada, 7.9% Saudi, 7.8% Mexico, 2.2% Iraq).

Of that amount, we get 870,000 per day from Saudi Arabia.
That would make the ANWR find equal to 11 years of their oil.

We get 242,000 a day from Iraq and ANWR then would be equal to 38.7 years of Iraqi oil.

Now, I don't believe the "6 month figure" so if it's anything over that, pure gravy!

For crying out loud Dude, I'm soooo sorry I didn't read all these posts fast enough for you, so you have to resort to talking trash about me... is there some reason you can't disagree with a person w/o having to insult them? I suppose you kick the dog when you have a bad day at work, eh?

Now, about your post...

I don't understand your first sentence. Can you please explain it to me? What is the 3.42 Billion barrels of oil?

I follow the math on the rest of the post, but I don't know where the 3.42 Bbl comes from. Thanks.
