Awww...Christopher Hitchens is being "British" about it. The game is over, his side beat the tar out of the Lefties, and he's ready to shake hands with the other side, like a good sport...sort of.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! This is great!

We were told that Baghdad would become another Stalingrad which it has. Just as in Stalingrad in 1953, all the statues and portraits of the heroic leader have been torn down.

Hitchens hits one out of the park again!

"I noticed that Kofi Annan this week announced that the Iraqi people should be the ones to decide their own government and future. I don't mind that he never said this before: It's enough that he says it now."

And as the same cry goes up throughout the Muslim world, maybe they'll have to look to their own houses, as well.

We may not like what we first see, when the middle east masses get the right to decide for themselves, but fanaticism cannot long withstand democracy and freedom, anywhere.

Hitchens is sharp. Whether you agree with him or not, he is sharp. I admit to my envy of his quick skill with words and ideas.

So it turns out that all the slogans of the anti-war movement were right after all.

Hitchens is his usual witty self. Given his verbal proficiency, it's nice to have him on our side in this war of rhetoric between the Left and Right.

Bump!

Christopher Hitchens has been out in front on the Iraq issue for along time and deserves to have a nice "I told you so" column.

I know I was grinning from ear to ear when I read this on this morning.

I was reading your comments on the North Korea thread and was reminded of this Hitchens' piece.
