I saw some of the black caucus arguments last night as the session dragged on toward the midnight deadline. I couldn't believe some of the angry statements that were made. Basically most said that blacks cannot trust the people of Georgia to vote on issues that affect blacks, because "if it were up to the people of Georgia, we would still not be allowed to vote, we would probably still be slaves". Race cards were being thrown viciously in all directions. Sometimes I think the only flag that would satisfy the black caucus is one that says "In Reparations We Trust".

I bolded that statement in the article above. I find it a little discomforting that the representatives of the people would not let their voices be heard.
Unbelieveable statements. Thanks for the post.

So you prefer we ALL be enslaved to the Federal Government.
(sarcasm)How noble of you.

Sorry, I only read the bold part of your post the first time I saw it.

The one thing that bothers me about the confederate battle flag as part of the state flags is that, in the name of "history" it was added to the flag in direct response to the civil rights movement.
Now, to me, that shows that there was a rather heinous intent.
To: stainlessbanner
The title is a bit misleading. It would appear the intent here is to seal it for the Stars and Bars design versus the St Andrews based flag or the horrid new one. They are going to give folks time to get used to the Stars and Bars style and then it will have to defend itself twice....is that it?
It would appear they prefer the Stars and Bars. The voters will still decide.
I can guarantee that the 2001 flag is dead as a doornail.
Man this all so ridiculous....black leaders and their conspirators have so much more important stuff to worry about than this. Even if they could have the Ghana National Flag imprinted on the seal....it would not even be a band aid on a severed stump of self destructive issues facing the black community. Why do they waste their time posturing over symbolism.....stupidity. No flag is going to help blacks get their act together.
This is a diversion ...smoke and mirrors.

If you are a Texan, you should look up where the Lone Star aspect of your state flag came from.
Careful with rocks in a glass house.

The Mexican state of which we were once a part, had a symbol of two stars. When we Texans won our independence, we kept one of the stars, thus the lone star, and a VERY PROUD ONE AT THAT!!!! Not sure which history you had in mind, but that is the true and actual history of our wonderful lone star.

The "heinous intent" I see is the move by liberals and other sympathizers of big, centralized government to remove all vestiges of the War for Southern Independence (a/k/a War of Northern Agression). I don't defend slavery, even in the 1800s, but am proud of Georgia's, and the South's, heroic efforts to remain true to the U.S. constitution, states rights, and decentralized government. The PC crowd and the D.C. lovers cannot abide this.

Texas First Regiment flag CSA. Flag used by that Texas Brigade to fight the Union. No different from the CSA Battle Flag (morally)only more specific. And the "Lone Star" was adopted from the Bonnie Blue flag used by many Cotton States of the South and by the CSA at times both governmentally and militarily. Here is the Mississippi Flag of the antebellum era and during the WBTS:
The Battle Flag has been demonized as the boogeyman. By the social engineer's standards, there are plenty of other targets out there. Hell, slavery and Yankee slave ships flourished under Old Glory for a good while. When would you care that the PC folks stop? ...is there a line in the sand or can they just keep coming till they've demonized all history prior to the 1960s?...They won't stop voluntarily. If you don't believe me ask Wlat...he's their Grand Poohbah.

Texas which was settled by southerners had a bonnie blue flag with the letter T E X A S, between the points of the white star from 11 March 1836 to 10 December 1836. The Texas Naval Ensign had a white field with a green tree and a red vertical bar on fly, with a white star on blue canton on. The Texas civil Ensign was the Bonnie blue with a white stripe on the upper 1/4 and a red stripe on the lower 1/4. The last two were used when Texas was a republic and again during the civil war. William M. Grimes-Wyatt, 29 April 1996

I felt like I needed a flowchart diagrammed just to keep up with it. I'm with you - the article is a little hard to follow.

See post below and prove to me that he and scores of others are wrong and that the Texas Lone Star is not derived from the Bonnie Blue Flag.
I'll be waiting. Neither can you hide from the fact that your state flag was used in the WBTS on the Southern side...precisely as it looks now. Do you want that under attack by the PC hordes too?

But, he doesn't tell you that the star came from the Mexican state that we won our independence from. That is the true story..
