Dang!!! I paid almost as much for my "dinky" 2 bedroom condo here in the 'burbs!!! Nice house, FBD!!! Too bad the ex is making you sell it. Sad to see something you probably put your blood, sweat & tears into just sold off to the highest bidder.
I know the feeling, when I got divorced I had to give up a house in the country in the middle of 25 acres with cherry trees and bosenberries and all that!

Nothing forced in the sale of house. It's had renters in it for a year. I had first option on it. Blood sweat and tears, yes.
I did all the mechanical systems, fireplace, heating, venting, built in vacume, electrical trim out, security, and speaker sytems. I even wired the furnace with a dial up modem, so you could call home to turn the heat on. That was a pretty cool feature, if you were coming home early from a trip, and didn't feel like coming into a cold house. I'm in the bldg. trades, so I know all the guys in the business, from the concrete to the cabinet makers.
The general is a buddy of mine, he and his framing crew couldn't stand my wife. Every day they came in, she would have some changes to make. "Can you move this door to over here?" "Can we move this wall?"
My electician friend about went nuts, the rough-in electrical budget went over $10,000, as she kept having him change and move circuits, lights, etc. He moved the microwave circuit four times, before she finally decided on it's location. Sheesh...memories...
This is next to the historic area of Ft. Stevens State park, and officers homes and military parade ground are adjacent. We barely squeaked through historical review, and were almost unable to build.
Most of my neighbors get tax credits for being on the historical registry. Something Mud is always advocatin', I believe.
Hey Mud, take note of the Heat-n-Glo See-thru F.P.
BTW, this is the first time I've had a look inside my house in almost 2 years! And all thanks to the internet.
