YA GOTTA SEE THIS! TROOPS HAVE PLACED AN AMERICAN FLAG IN THE FACE OF THE STATUE OF SADDAM IN THE TOWN SQUARE! THIS IS JUST TOO OUTSTANDING!

It was there, but they took it down. Now they have an Iraqi flag around statue's neck. Now they have taken the Iraqi flag down.

How Symbolic!!! US flag placed over statues face only for a moment, then removed and handed to an Iraqi helping to reset the rope. Iraqi hands US flag to a marine lower down. Now they pass up an old (pre-saddam) Iraqi flag and hang on statue!!!!

All those joyous Iraqis cheering. Trying to pull down this 50 foot tall stature of Saddam. Swarming happily around US tanks.
I tell you it's a quagmire. We are losing this war. The Iraqis hate us.

I have never seen the Today show until this morning, and the blatant bias is absolutely mouth-dropping. Anyway, Katie Couric about had a fit about the erection of the American flag, and she made a point to let us know when and why it had to come down.

And just as quickly, the ABC news radio person said "well, we don't want to appear as conquerors, perhaps the flag display is not the best thing we could be doing.." Is anyone else sick of that $hit?
Not a peep from the reporters of pride in what American military might and blood has accomplished in 3 weeks, or even a hint of pride in their voices, or a tear in their eyes. This is the "4th of July" for Iraq and our reporters are afraid we'll offend someone by displaying our flag.
