The real indicator is the increase of type-2 diabetes in children, which was unheard-of twenty or thirty years ago. It even used to be called "adult-onset" diabetes. Now, it's almost an epidemic among children. This can't be blamed on video games or lack of exercise

Isn't there a Norwegian study linking this to one of the many immunizations that kids get?

Well, the same kids also sat on department store Santas' laps, so maybe that caused it. Post hoc, ergo propter hoc, has made lots of lawyers rich beyond Napolean's wildest dreams. Since vaccines are given to a mass of people, they are an easy thing to blame whenever one looks for causes, or casus belli...

Diabetes, type two, is also epidemic among adults. The kids and grownups are eating too many Little Debbies and not enough meat, fish, and cheese. When one cuts out desserts and most breads, and sees one's triglycerides go down, that's hard to argue with.

Butter your broccoli, and lose those pounds.
