You captured it!
I hope someone takes a picture of this statue falling (it will soon) add your caption and then show it during the campaign in 2004.

The Marines should bring in a looped cable and install it with a CH-53 ! That rope is going to break.

OK, they've broken the head off the sledge hammer, the rope is frayed and they have a ladder that looks about 300 years old.
Is there nobody in this city with a bulldozer?

I think that's him climbing the rope now.

Saddam's hero was Stalin, his regime was "socialist" - there's only a hair of difference between the USSR and Iraq in terms of terror, cult of personality and so on. I delight in the destruction of this remaining pillar of Stalinism.

Thanks for your link in #5. It's taking them a while to pull down the statue, but they're working on it. That is a HUGH statue.

It's more fun to watch the Iraqis take it down themselves.

So does this mean we have to wait for Rather to interview the Syrian and Iranian dictators to get those nations liberated also?

The place is in Paris and is called "Dick Tater's Statue Emporium".
Sign says, "Stunning memorials in a moment. Easy to erect, hard to take down." Tyrants especially catered.
VP of Operations, Tom Dashle - Secretary, Nancy Pelosi - Transportation, Ted Kennedy.

I have pieces of the Berlin Wall (I don't know if they are real or not but it doesn't matter).
Freedom is beautiful and very costly. I hope we in the U.S. remember it.
