I agree, and it would have been better if we were not bogged down in a "quagmire". /sarcasm.
All your ugly statues are belong to us! Go USA! Go People of Iraq - enjoy your freedom!

The liberal spin: "But we should not make too much of these apparent shows of jubilation. We must remember that the Iraqi people are accustomed to the idea that they must display public loyalty to their leaders. Since it is apparent that the Americans are now taking control, these displays should be seen as signs of fear of their new masters, not joy at their so-called 'liberation.'"
Or something like that.

This may count as the worst day of Chirac's miserable life - at least, so far.....

Oh THAT's what they were trying to do - stomp that tank-retreiver to death!
And then they leapt right on to their fallen hero in an attempt at CPR... Gee, that's funny; they sure have a funny way of giving "compressions" over there...
Or something like that after the NY Times gets done with it!

Having a very twisted sense of humor, I think somebody in Baghdad should run the Tricolour (French Flag) up a flagpole to see what the reaction would be.
Soemhow, I don't think the French will be very welcomed in Iraq.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

the most amazing 90 or so minutes of TV I have ever seen.I'm old enough to remember the Hungarian uprising in 1956. Knocking down the Berlin wall is the highlight of my life. Now if the middle east has a transformation like eastern europe, that will be pretty amazing.

The NY Times won't cover the war tomorrow. They'll be too busy covering Martha Burk's protest at Augusta.
