[history]
PALO ALTO -- The Palo Alto Police Department said today that resident Seth Yatovitz found a suspicious envelope in his afternoon mail that caused a stinker of a problem.
Police said Yatovitz -- who led the opposition against the city of Burlingame's decision to hold a "Yellow Ribbon Week" to support U.S. troops in Iraq -- took the envelope to the Palo Alto Fire Station to be investigated. Firefighters subsequently called police and the building was evacuated while the rear parking lot and surrounding streets were cordoned off.

The bomb squad rendered a soiled diaper safe? What they do, wash it?
Such breathless reportage. But I guess one would want to be "breathless" when rendering a diaper, huh?

"it contained a soiled disposable baby diaper."
Looks like the spineless liberal had a conniption over a soiled diaper and wasted taxpayer money by hysterically dialing firefighters, the police, the bomb squad, and whoever else could help him cope with this "monstrosity". Seth should be fined to remunerate the city for his unnecessary alarmist behavior.

Just an exercise in free speech. Oops, <sarcasm) I forgot only those who hate America or at the least want to turn it into something resembling Red China, Vietnam or N. Korea, have "free speech rights". Conservative speech that supports our duly elected leaders is "hate speech" and is not protected by the first amendment. </sarcasm)

I'm sure he'd never send it to himself to generate publicity, sympathy and to make the pro Iraqi liberation people look bad, nah couldn't ever happen. These peacenikskis have too much integrity for that.

Speaking of diapers... Tell this loser to ask his State Senator to quit trying to tax diapers.

Late update- the bill's author delayed public hearing until the end of April.
We'll keep FR informed of the attempt by California Democrats to tax women, children, and the elderly.

Being the mother of two babies in diapers I have first hand knowledge of this "lethal weapon". I believe in some instances it is far more deadly than any nerve gas or blistering agent.

After investigating the envelope, technicians from the Santa Clara County Bomb Squad rendered it safe and determined that it contained a soiled disposable baby diaper. ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like Tawana Brawley you mean? Al Sharpton still thinks that girl told the truth despite being exposed as an all and all-out liar.

I don't see why this liberal pansy had to involve the firefighters. If I got a suspicious envelope from someone I didn't know, and obviously didn't contain a letter, I would throw it out. Obviously this jerk just craves attention, hence the anti-ribbon campaign he held in the first place.
To: goldstategop
I like Al's response when reporters question him about that scam. To paraphrase, he always asks why Ted Kennedy gets a pass for killing Mary Jane Kopecni (sp?) and he asks something about Hillary, too. When they answer those questions, he says he'll answer the reporters' questions.
