There is one thing that bothers me about Shep's view.

The Jouranlists were told to get out of Iraq if they were not embedded. Our .gov warned tham that they would be in danger & that they could not be responsible for their safety, they were asked to leave.

It is true that Iraqis hide behind human sheilds, but jouranlists should be aware of the tactics that Iraq would use.

I do have sympathy for people who lost loved ones.

IMO this hostility surfacing is years of pent up anger towards a slanted media that thinks it's all bout them.

Shep might have an overall point, but he's comparing apples and oranges in relation to journalists and the 6yr olds. The journalists, as far as I know, were always free to leave the country and get out of harms way. The girls never had that opportunity.
