Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Batchelor & Alexander proclaim- "the Cold War is back on!" Russia is very dirty in this war.

I do believe if France takes [al-Khomovar] we might see an Atlantic Free Trade alliance, comprising Britain, Italy, Spain, Denmark, the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe. Surely Chirac cannot be that stupid! You know, during the buildup I swore off French tourism, but if France takes him, I'll make an exception, just so I can go look up that little fuhk.

OK. That is seriously cool. Almost better than the Special Ops riding their horses in Afghanistan!

Combover denied to Eric Shaun of Fox News that he was leaving...... but Shaun said he got the news from a good source that Combover and 9 others are scheduled to take a flight to France..

Pretty Chicken has a wide vocabulary.
He is to journalism what Saddam was to interior decorating.

He will probably assess if he can go home. If he can't go home for whatever reason, he will seek political assylum in some country. His whole world is gone. (and he didn't even get to go on the cover of rolling stone like algore)
Good morning, Achmed! Good job with the sunrise settings on the CBS cam.
How do you like Free Iraq?
To: GOPyouth
Thanks for posting that! Someone did post it earlier, but I forgot to go read it. Neil is great.

You know, this is really spooky. I didn't even get into the rape and stuff like that!
Stealing stuff from the White House (and the American people)
Suspicious deaths of friends and associates.
Disregard for the laws of the land. (Didn't Saddam's so-called assembly pass a law banning production of weapons of mass destruction.

no, I don't believe him. Thinking the denial may indicate he's trying to sneak out.

And he had quite a fondness for American Movies. Quite the hypocrite, no? That's the absolute least of his sins.
Wonder how many of Iraqi children died so he could have gilt bathroom fixtures? Did you see where they found medicine provided by the UN in Saddam's bathroom?

Did you hear Dan Rather end his segment talking about the "death", "pain", and "despair" in Baghdad tonight?!? It's a bad night to be a bad guy in Baghdad. (^:
Dan knew Saddam. He's probably mourning for ol' Gone with the Wind Hussein.
