For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.

A distinction should be made between those journalists who chose to 'embed' with the military under Pentagon authority, and those who are 'wild cards' hanging out at the hotel.

Even the embeds are on their own. The DoD rules make it very clear that no soldier is to lift a finger to save a reporter if there's a battle going on, and each embed had to sign their life away to be placed with a unit in the first place.

Fox - Rick on video phone. Marines dismantling a AAA gun. At least 6 AAA guns around him. Wants the enemy to engage them so fire can be returned. Iraqis running house to house to avoid detection.

Seamole, these are tunnels you can walk through only if you know the right people. It is totally underground. There are miles and miles of tunnels.

I don't really know for sure, but I think they were built prior to WWII. I've never seen a book on it.

I remember being in Prescott, AZ, years ago, and they also had tunnels underground. They had a reason, though, and that was because the Chinese launderers used them to pick up and deliver laundry.

Tunnels have always interested me. Why are they used?

I know. My point was that the reporters with the military are 'official', and the ones in the Palestine Hotel are not.

The press will not get sympathy from the public, that's for sure. Frankly, I'd like to see Tommy Franks bring those guys at Qatar to the Palestine Hotel. LOL.

Anyone hear the story about Basra earlier? It seems they had water 90% restored to the city and some boneheads in the 10% got impatient, broke a main to get to the water wiping out most of the system . They now have a major outage again.

An anchor on Fox last night that there was a subway planned for Baghdad during the mid-80's, but it never got completed, and that's where alot of the connecting tunnels come in.
