Hey, CurlyBill, where did you get your screen name? I remember a character on the movie TOMBSTONE named Curly Bill (played by actor Powers Booth). My cousin worked on that movie.

I caught them several nites...sitting there just talking...one in NYC and the others in/near Bagdad. It was great, almost like eavesdropping. They were just causually talking about what was going on. It was GREAT---much better the the normal nettalkingheads who think they have to 'splain everthing to us.

Sunday night was fantastic. I remember Shep signing off on Friday, saying he was taking the weekend off unless something happened. When I saw Greg Kelly in front of Saddam's palace, I knew it was only a matter of time before Shep would be back, and sure enough, he took over the Fox & Friends time slot thru that Monday morning. Couldn't keep him away.

BTW, this same cousin of mine is a civil war re-enactor.

I'm sure this is bitter-sweet for many Iraqi's for just that reason.I got sniffly about it...again.
But as I left home to come back to the office after lunch, our next-door neighbor gave me the thumbs-up and was grinning ear to ear about Baghdad falling & Saddam coming down :-))

U.S. Army soldiers are welcomed by residents of Baghdad Wednesday, April 9, 2003. The soldiers from the A Company 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment took over a section of northern Baghdad with a warm welcome from many residents, but under sporadic rocket and small arms fire from irregular Iraqi forces. A portrait of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) still hangs on the burning Ministry of Transport and Communication building in Baghdad Wednesday, April 9, 2003. Thousands went on a looting rampage as U.S. troops moved into the Iraqi capital. (AP Photo/Jerome Delay)

Figures the investors would see something bad and tank the markets today. Has Cavuto talked about it yet?

Anyway, I adore their chat time. I feel like I truly learn more about the spirit of the soldiers and what is happening in that 2 hour slot, than the other 22 hours. It's very informal, and uniterrupted--especially interesting when Greg and Rick patch in and compare notes. Love the air time that they give to the troops in the A/O. Brian Wilson's segment is good too. Always love hearing from Col Hunt (and his colleagues), BUT--I can't keep staying up this late! LOL

Tanks entering Firdos Square starts around post #1800 on this thread.
Keep in mind, we were already seeing BaghDaddys celebrating in the outer suburbs. We were waiting for the tanks, but we had no way of knowing that circle was about to become media coverage central.

Thanks, Carolina! Just got done reading the "wanker" posts. LMAO
I read all of the Freeper reaction to Liberation Day in downtown B-dad while the statue was being pulled down. I'm kinda glad I wasn't on-line, I would have lost it with you all, I've been sobbing with pride and joy all day!!

Whiney, left wing a$$hole alert on FNC....sees today as some kind of hell.
I wish someone would just shoot these idiots.

BTW ... has there been any word yet from CNN's Wesley Clark about how bad the Military is doing??? I listened to Clark a few nights ago when Walt got to the airport and reported live on CNN. Actually he was quite happy with the progress of the troops at that point (God, I just hate to admit that since I hate CNN). I think it has hit him and he actually started to analyze in a more neutral to favourable way for the military.
On a side line have any of you read the threads on the nuclear site in Iraq? If you haven't - read them. Sorry I don't have a link handy. I am thoroughly stunned that the inspetors inspected the above ground site but apparently did not inspect underground!
Here's the quote form the article:
Last fall, they say, the Central Intelligence Agency prodded international inspectors to probe Al-Tuwaitha for weapons of mass destruction. The inspectors came away with nothing.
"They went through that site multiple times, but did they go underground? I never heard anything about that," said physicist David Albright, a former IAEA Action Team inspector in Iraq from 1992 to 1997. Officials at the IAEA could not be reached for comment.
