But once there's a new government/administration in place, THEY'LL pick their own UN ambassador to the UN.
(hint: it won't be Combover) It sure won't. I don't feel sorry for the guy, but I don't have a problem if the US grants him immigrant status. He's a desk jockey, did his job, and now needs to find a new job.

Okay, now you made me jealous. I'm stuck at work. I can't wait to get home to see the footage.

Shep gets a little wild and incautious occasionally...but he's got a great, unique style and I think as the years go on he'll get better and better.

Sky News just showed Iraqis in London alternately cheering and sobbing--cheering for the liberation of Iraq and sobbing about their relatives who've been tortured and killed by Saddam.

I missed that because I was furious that only half of the Senate felt the need to listen to a briefing by the Secretary of Defense and Gen. Myers. That is appalling. Appalling yes .. Surprising, No

I loved the moment when the statue came down.
But, hands down, the BEST moment was the instant those tanks drove into Firdos Square...on the webcam! It only took a few minutes before it was apparent the civilians were there to greet them, not beat them. Oh, happy day!

That's a great update!
I wouldn't have even known about Chicken Boy w/o FR since I don't watch that station...he was really something else. Looked awfully silly compared to Kelly, Leventhal, North, Arnot, Bloom, et al.

He's also a member of the Ba'athist regime, do you think Saddam gave that job to just anyone?? Believe me, he may not be in the fatigues or look as rough as the men in Baghdad, but he's just as guilty
To: Cboldt
It sure won't. I don't feel sorry for the guy, but I don't have a problem if the US grants him immigrant status. He's a desk jockey, did his job, and now needs to find a new job.I sure object.
He could go to Russia, Syria or any other place--but he's NOT going to stay here.
He reminds me of that Information Minister that the Taliban had in Pakistan. After the Taliban fell, he asked Pakistan for political asylum. They said no--and he's now been relocated to Guantanemo.

Antiwar protestors are circling their picnic blankets and fingering the dregs of their trail mix bags, wondering what to do next, like dogs whose food bowls been moved... That's GOLD, Timeout, pure GOLD! ROFL.......

and sobbing about their relatives who've been tortured and killed by Saddam. I'm sure this is bitter-sweet for many Iraqi's for just that reason.

Thanks, Ragtime. I missed your post. Since the link was 'broken' (red faced), I'll use that as an opportunity to REPOST my original post (grin). Maybe get some more action on the Freeperthon thread.....if only some stopping by to tell Jim 'thanks'.
Off topic a bit....but I hope that all who have participated on these remarkable *Situation Room* threads will stop by the FREEPATHON THREAD and say THANKS to Jim Robinson...and if you haven't, make a small donation to keep Free Republic up and running. This website is only possible by OUR donations..and we owe a huge debt of gratitude to Jim and John.
