Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

To all who helped this get started and keep it running, thank you!
Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...
One thing's sure...the oppressed Iraqis understood our troops are under attack from tobacco Nazis at home. They give them cigarettes...whether they smoke or not. LOL!
CNN take, "Iraqi civilians fighting back using evil tobacco as a weapon against coalition troops."
Not that I have heard of.
apropos of nothing, I was just thinking of the line from the George Peppard character on the old TV show, "A Team"
"DON'TCHA JUST LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER?"
and don't forget.....it took Janet Reno 51 days to "conquer" the Branch Davidian compound...
And the reverse wasn't true? Hey, Petah. It's crow for dinner complete with feathers.
I assume they are in Iraq. And IMO, they should stay there and help. That is, if they have the courage of their convictions. They don't, and they won't.
LMAO!!
Is Mr. Chicken the reporter on ABC who is interviewing the marines and asking questions on behalf of Jennings?
It must be because he does seem pretty wimpy. Not only that, the guy is clueless. Earlier a marine who speaks arabic and is serving as translator told Mr. Chicken that he came over from the States only a month ago, but that many of the marines in the infantry unit that he attached to had been in the region for five to six months. Mr. Chicken looked at him in disbelief and asked the marine how that could be since the war only started about three weeks ago. The marine had to explain to this dumbass reporter that the troop deployments didn't just start a month ago. It never ceases to amaze me that people that ignorant are working at the network level.
Translation: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, Cheney said the generals were "embedded" in numerous TV news studios. Got a big laugh from the press audience.
This does not surprise me. I never watch ABC. Never.
