Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Did you see it? Yes, several times on TiVo.
Last night, or early this morning, in a less adversarial tone, it would have been fine with me.
In that tone, though, and after they've kept this story before us endlessly for nearly 24 hours, it irritates me.
I agree with his point, but not the tone and timing.
I do note, though, that they're backing off and reporting more current news again.

Laura Ingraham is talking about Christiane Amanpour on the radio. She reminds us that the media was warned weeks ago to leave Baghdad.

Was looking at the pic of the tank on the bridge and the snipers nest on top of that building in the sandbags. Was wondering if it was possible that they missed the nest and hit the hotel??? Hard to tell about the angle due to telephoto use.

I don't have cable, and I don't have DSL. That is to say, as I peek over my rock for the first time today, I wonder if the incident of killed journalists yesterday has yet been described as "friendly fire"? Friendly fire is when you hit someone on YOUR SIDE.
To: pnz1
Fox - Jumpelt reports that there's been alot of action to the southeast for the past couple hours. Machine gun fire 400-500yds away on air now. Can't tell who's doing fire. Probably resistance pockets that are being dealt with.

Was looking at the pic of the goons hugging and sobbing. They don't appear to be wearing the same clothes as the goon pointed out in the FOX piece.

Brian Wilson just showed that doctored up photo of Hussein and the Dixie Chicks. That was too funny. The libs were very upset to see the photo. Can we take up a collection to buy them a sense of humor?

I miss Art Bell, his replacement is almost never credible, Art bordered on credibility some of the time:)I look at Coast to Coast AM as a gold mine. Tons of ore, ounces of gold...
