Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

They will just explain all that away by saying we've driven them insane. Or drugged them.

I emailed ZAhn and recommended she focus on the good things that were going on. Told her what was happening in downtown BD was *good*. Sometimes you have to tell them what is going on and what to do. CNN needs guidance.

They can't stand to watch the footage, so they have to go by reports.

Is it just me, or does that statue look like a giant bloated Mansour Ijaz?
To: Conan the Librarian
Someone tell that dude to tie a slip knot on the rope!
To: AppyPappy
CNBC says most traders on the NYSE are watching the statue coming down.
To: Amore
The rope is up, and over one shoulder! (The high one - the one with the riased arm.)
Now, they need to loop it around his neck and tie it off so they can pull..
Can't believe nobody has fallen yet.
To: BunnySlippers
Don't you LOVE this day?
To: Chemist_Geek
Rope's too short. They need more rope.
MSNBC - After the jubilation, people will go home and find out their electricity is off, the water isn't running, and somebody has stolen their televisions and furniture. Bzzzzt. MSNBC, your credibility is below zero.
To: mhking

To: redlipstick
