Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Hey have any of the major media networks said ANYTHING about the childrens prison? I noticed NOT ONE of the stinking reporters asked ANYTHING to Brig. General about the children being freed from prisons. 90% of their questions/outrage was about the one journalist killed. They make me sick.
To: Severa
Nah the networks aren't interested in children's prisons, torture rooms, missing POW's, dead AMericans and Brits,,they want to know about investigations into civilian deaths and the soon to be coming lawsuits against the americans for destroying property, condoning looting and endangering their fat arses.

It may, because I've noticed that the regular media is actually about 24 hours about us on stories like that.

These reporters are as dumb as bags of rocks. Did you hear that dingbat at the end of the press conference? She wanted to essentially know why we didn't investigate every combat action. She even wanted to know if we had plans to "interview" every combat pilot that might have dropped a bomb and to view the videotape from each plane to determine whether or not civilians might have been targeted. She acted as though every U.S. troop is a potential war criminal. What a disgrace.
I think half the questions asked the past two days had to do with our actions at the Palestine hotel. These reporters honestly believe it is all about them. Apparently they are under the impression that this war is being staged to provide them with a story. They want us to guarantee them safety while they lounge around the hotel all day in the middle of Baghdad. I'm surprised they aren't asking if U.S. soldiers can bring them fresh towels and stock their mini-bars as well.

I liked what Gen'l Vallely last night said -- you should never try to watch a firefight. You MUST seek shelter. Surely someone told these idiots. Of course they did. But to the, it doesn't mean they have to. "You're not the boss of me".
Does Wilkinson have a strip of arabic writing on his shirt pocket? I thought he did yesterday.
