Jubilant crowd greets US forces in Baghdad
BAGHDAD (AFP) Apr 09, 2003
Jubilant crowds cheered US troops rolling through a district of northern Baghdad Wednesday, applauding and chanting "Good, Good, Bush!", an AFP journalist said.
Hundreds of Baghdadis welcomed the US convoy of seven vehicles carrying Marines through the Hababiyah district about three kilometers (two miles) from the heart of the capital, and tore up a giant portrait of President Saddam Hussein.

Folks lets make fun of CNN et al,,lets not let them get us angry today. It is a good day, a great day, lets not let them make our stomachs hurt. It gives them too much power.

Nah, we should string France along until the very last minute and then just say we changed our minds. ;-) Quid pro quo, Clarisse...

SKY cut away from CENTCOM after a few minutes of briefing.
I would appreciate anybody who is watching to give us a few tidbits of what they are saying there.

Oh, indeed it is a good day, and we should have fun, but never let down your guard on the spinmeisters...in two hours we could be hearing that we're in a quagmire again. :p Celebrate, but keep alert!

My NTV is showing skyline, not the roundabout. It's dark, but I can see. No voices...just the hum of the air compressor. Are we seeing the same thing????

Forget Lara, Katie Couric seems absolutely crestfallen; I can't remember her more somber.

BBC was showing a clip of two guys one saying "Thank you Mr. Bush! Thank you!" the other guy saying "We very like Mr. Bush!". Cheering and celebrating everywhere.
Of course, liberal media slack-jawed and trying to spin...

Minister's Mercedes mobbed
April 09, 2003
YOUNG Iraqis attempted to hotwire the abandoned white Mercedes of the irrigation minister amid widespread looting in the Iraqi capital, an AFP correspondent said.
A group of about 15 to 20 men were working to start the engine under the lifted hood of the luxury car while another sat ready in the driver's seat.
The minister, Rassul Abd al-Hussein Sawadi, was nowhere in sight.
