I would like to pose a question here.

Seeing that we all concure that a child rapist is the most repulsive and pherhaps most Evil of creatures on two leggs; what would be the most effective punishment that could be rendered to fit the crime?

I personally don't like to wharehouse someone for life, because it is much too expensive, and besides; Richard Speck partied everyday of his sentence until death! Are there any real good suggestions other than instant death upon being found guilty?

I'm not a father of a child, but sympathize to all moters and fathrs who rad this article, we need stricter laws to punish offeders like this!

I think you ask a really important question and one for which I have no answer...

I have to say here, I have a very real problem, with the death penalty...this is just my own pesonal thing to work out, and this thread is neither the time, nor the place for that...

But your question is a good one...do we execute first time child rapists, as an effective means of protecting our chldren?(at least, this is perhaps what you are suggesting)...I dont know, I must say, I do not know what the best solution is...

I lived in Chicago when Richard Speck killed all those nurses, and the horror we felt when it came over the TV, about the grisly discovery of all those young women...

And I saw pics, years later, of Richard Speck, snorting some sort of dope, and looking like a transvestite...and it did make me sick, that he seemed to be enjoying himself, while all those young nurses were so many years in the grave, their lives ended all too soon, and no doubt their families suffering endlessly...

I dont think Richard Speck minded being in jail at all...he just continue on with his life, more or less as if nothing bad had happened...

But until they start executing pedophiles, for committing child rape, but dont murder the child, I am still for keeping them all in jail for life, just to keep the children safe...
