So, Shall We Take Another Vote?

So, Iraqis are greeting coalition forces in Basra and Baghdad with appreciation and some reports have Baghdad residents revolting against the Fedayeen Saddam, rising up and killing them in opposition to their decades of brutality. What?

al Qaida operatives in the north and Palestinian Liberation Organization terrorists in the south, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad suicide squads, have joined the Iraqi forces in opposing the liberation of the people of Iraq by coalition forces. They have been sent to aid their “ally in Allah” by their leaders! It would seem that Saddam Hussein had the alliance of terrorism organizations such as al Qaida and the PLO all along, just as our president has asserted. Are you kidding me?

A nuclear/biochemical weapons research and development complex is discovered by British forces in Basra complete with offensive plans, exposure suits and emergency medical supplies for accidental exposure. POW information has led coalition forces to a chemical weapon storage facility out side of Hindiyah (the site of ancient Babylon). Preliminary findings using field testing kits there are confirming the presence of sarin, a lethal nerve agent, lewisite, a blister agent and tabun, all banned under UN mandate. National Public Radio is reporting that Marines of the 101st Airborne Division, who were following up behind the Army after it seized the Baghdad airport, uncovered a cache of weapons including 20 medium ranged BM-21 missiles equipped with sarin and mustard gas that were “ready to fire”. Really? Gee, I thought all that stuff was hard to find? Didn’t Hans Blix say he couldn’t find anything?

Iraqi death squads, the Fedayeen Saddam, are not only firing on Iraqi civilians who are trying to flee to the coalition occupied territories but they are also forcing Iraqi males as young as twelve years old to fight for the Hussein regime under the threat of their families being murdered, placing them on the front lines with unloaded weapons, guns at their backs. Wow! Really? That’s awful!

Human shields from the US and Japan that actually made it to Iraq had their minds changed as they encountered Iraqi civilians who validated the assertions of the murder and brutality of Saddam Hussein’s regime, so much so that they are welcoming the coalition forces and the military action to remove him. Now that’s quite enough. I can’t handle the truth!!

It’s all true. It’s all reported. And I am sure that those who chose to believe the Saddam Hussein facilitators can’t handle the reality of these truths.

So, now that the Bush Administration has been vindicated about its position that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, weapons systems prohibited by UN resolution, links to terrorist organizations and that his regime raped, mutilated and tortured their own people for political purposes, I suppose the United Nations will be calling a special meeting of the Security Council so they can urgently vote a unanimous resolution to apologize to the United States. It would be nice but I hardly think that they would admit to being wrong.

It would be wrong to ask them for an apology because we, as kind hearted Americans, the same people who give more to humanitarian charities around the world than the total GNP of some third world countries, would never want to infer that Hans Blix and his band of merry men were either completely inept in their commission to find these biochemical laboratories or found it in their interests to not find them. That would mean that we would either have to call them idiots or we would have to call them liars. Either way, their assertion that the inspections were working and that the Iraqis were cooperating can only be looked at with the current knowledge as comical. Still it would be wrong to ask for an apology.

It would be wrong to ask for an apology from the members of the United Nations Security Council because these important cogs on international diplomacy execute their duties without collusion and without a sense of self. These pillars of the diplomatic world would never allow important issues such as the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or human brutalization to be politicized. To ask for an apology from such honest and straightforward assembly would be boorish.

It would be wrong to ask for an apology from the liberal-left who insisted that the only reason we were going into military action was for the oil despite the fact that we could have bought the oil for less than what the cost of the military action is costing us. To ask these free spirited intellectuals to compromise their self-esteem and admit that they didn’t have the slightest idea what they were talking about as they called our president a war-monger and our country an oppressor would be to infringe on their right to be stupid! So, we don’t want to offend their fragile libidos by asking them for an apology.

And it would be wrong to ask for an apology from France and the rest of the narcissistic governments who existed under the protection of the United States during the Cold War because we don’t want to compromise the solid alliance that we have with these most trusted of allies. To ask for an apology from them might offend them to such an extent that they may not help us when we really need it both morally and militarily. To ask for something as incredible as an apology from the French and the rest of these fair-weathered friends would simply be rude and we don’t want to be rude to them, especially the French, now do we?

No, the United States, President Bush, his administration and those of us who believed in our government and what it was trying to do shouldn’t hold our collective breath for an apology from those who called us liars, war-mongers, baby-killers and the like. This is not for any of the sarcastic reasons that I have mentioned but for the fact that these people, caught in their ineptitude, their arrogance, their self-absorption and their lack of intelligence will not feel the heat of being red-faced or understand the bitter taste of having to eat crow, rather they will become angry because they weren’t right. They will lash out at those of us who were correct in believing in our government with the indignation of the scorned. As incredible as it may sound they will hold it against us for being right.

But then, what did you expect from a group of people who have done everything in their power to obstruct a process that will, in the end, free millions of oppressed people and rid the world on a tyrant that has used weapons of mass destruction and torture on his own people and his neighbors? If anything, they should be embarrassed for not having the foresight to see the end game. Perhaps they should apologize for that. But don’t hold your breath.

Too bad that this article can't be rammed down the anti-war protestors throat.
