Thanks! I'm glad to know I'm not supposed to know who she is! And yes, thank you, I'll have the man in the moon cookie.

P.S. It's my Freeper anniversary, so everything I say today is correct.Does that mean you're not going to speak today? :)
To: Billie
People used to say I looked like Jackie O when I was younger. Bet they said the same thing to you.

I need to be assured that those flowers aren't really daisies after all.
Daisies

Indeed it is, Guenevere, on New Haven!!
Had Mrs. Henegar for Algebra I in the 9th grade, and my sister hated me for that!
Carolyn (5 years older) was truly bright, but strove to be popular, shall we say? Played a lot and made B's in the same class under Mrs. Henegar, and told out parents it was her teaching.
Smart Aleck comes along and for the year under same lady had a 98 average...hahahaha
I actually taught the Algebra II class under the Assistant Coach - he'd take roll call, collect our homework, point to the new assignment on the board and say, "If you have any questions, ask Margaret."
There were only eight other students, and he'd leave to do coaching things, and I just kept one lesson ahead of everyone. It worked fne, all of us longtime friends!
Mrs. Henegar became the Principal before I graduated, and gave me a glowing character reference when I was applying for the Marine Corps - how I went straight from Boot Camp to the podium as a Classroom Instructor for women recruits at Parris Island, plus what my pastor wrote.
Then there was Coach Rick Gillespie who became the Principal - was of the new MelHi location when my boys were in 11th and 12th grades after we moved back. Had a grand talk with him then.
One of my friends had been the babysitter for his little children.
Both Principals are now deceased, and I have many fond memories of them.
The Eastern building was the Senior and Junior High - middle one grades 1-6.
Heck - a little house two blocks east of the school and across the street was where during WWII we went to get our ration stamp books for essential goods!
No longer there, of course.

Ha! Wanna bet? She loves it. :)Obviously, our interpretations of LadyX's "compliments" differ greatly.
I thought it was a brilliant use of sarcasm and irony. :-)
To: Aquamarine
You mean
when SHE was younger, I'm sure!
No, not me, and I think you're much prettier than Jackie O - her eyes are a bit too wide-set. (Maybe that's why she always wore such big sunglasses?) :)

Thanks for saying that. Never cared for her too much and didn't like it when people said that...thought she was a bit of a snob.
Alot of people told me that I looked like Patty Hearst too in the years she was missing...must have heard that a hundred times.

"Now you make me feel guilty that I can't think of anything terrible to say about today's thread. LadyX, maybe you can help me out. :)" I dare not, TMan!!
Hari-kari on the Finest Forum would not be a pretty sight..:))

"I thought it was a brilliant use of sarcasm and irony. :-)" What a gallant and charming fellow you are, TMan!!
So very underappreciated in this world of little nagging missteps - keep striding boldly along, just as you are....we eventually will be whipped into shape, thanks to your unceasing efforts..:))

Finest Lady Dolley Pippin Madison requests the honour of your presence at Tea.
Thank you for the invitation to tea. (-:

"Thank you for the invitation to tea. (-: " Billie, perhaps you should have someone hand her a cup of tea before she does fall asleep? ..:))
Perhaps a tiny tea sandwich as well?

#205..Lots of good memories for you, right :))
My daughter (who teaches school here in Brevard) and I recently attended a play at the Henegar (Guys & Dolls)...
They've restored it beautifully.
Old downtown New Haven is one of my favorite haunts :)
Lovely old antique stores, shops, and small, quaint restaurants.

#176...Oh this is adorable. :)
Once, years ago, when the kids were teens, our family did one of those sepia colored Civil War photos....
It looked quite authentic....we had the period dress, and the poses were just so....and daughter's long hair, and my 'do' just fit in perfectly!
I wish I could figure out how to post it.
