Socialists Organizing in Galveston County, Texas
I will admit it is a well conceived plan. Get the locals out to protest the presence of the Ku Klux Klan and do it under the feel good name of the United Concerned Neighbors of Galveston and Harris Counties. Build some good will and a coalition of gentle people. The next time the United Concerned Neighbors may protest a garbage dump. Hey, no one wants a dump in their backyard.
And useful idiots are born. . .
United Concerned Neighbors is run by Rona and David Michael Smith, well known to some of us by their work with a multitude of hard left organizations. Mr. Smith is a political science professor at College of the Mainland and an avowed Marxist. His wife Rona is a school counselor in Hitchcock. She keeps a lower profile than David.
David and Rona Smith are known to their radical left community as the Progressive Workers Organizing Committee. In their IndyMedia report on their recent demonstration they gave thanks to the International Socialist Organization for their support and presence.
Their report links to 3 newspaper stories on the demonstration. The stories mention the United Concerned Neighbors but no mention of the Progressive Workers Organizing Committee or the International Socialist Organization.
All three newspapers are aware of the hard left Socialist views of David Smith. The folks in Santa Fe and Galveston County should have been informed they were supporting a Socialist organization. If you wish to ask the newspapers why they did not point out the Socialist roots of this demonstration please use the Letter to the Editor links below. The good folks in Galveston County need to know they are being duped by these left wing radicals.

I thought this was the same guy!
I wouldn't say you support Indymedia, but it seems you are playing 'Devil's advocate' for them. Do I misread you? . . .
LOL ! Yep !
Well, apparently they felt the NEED to change the picture of their "We Support our Troops when they shoot their officers" pic after we exposed them here on FR. You seem to be doin' some dancin' here, friend.
One might say the same for a LOT of the things that FReepers FReep, hmm?. . .
Conservative folks on this forum are interested to know what the enemy is doing and look to THIS FORUM to hear about it. I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY for the fools at Indymedia. So, since you didn't reply to the 'playing Devils advocate' comment, then let me be more direct: Are you an editor for Indymedia or an associate in any way? . . .
Secretive? Not to the tiny audience that reads Indymedia. But if they were proud of there affiliations with Socialist organizations they would represent themselves as such when they approach the general public. When the Houston FreeRepublic Chapter interacts with the public it promotes the the parent organization and political philosophy.
I discovered Mr. Smith in reverse. I had an encounter at one of our FReeps with a person that may have been his wife, Rona, and I reseached them back from there.
I'm sure y'all remember Santa Fe being in the news not too long back for the school prayer challenges. I KNOW those folks wouldn't knowingly join up with a Socialist/Marxist organization. The Texas City Sun and onetimeatbandcamp are ignorant or complicit if they argue that it is common knowledge that the United Concerned Neighbors is a Socialist backed group.
Well, apparently they felt the NEED to change the picture of their "We Support our Troops when they shoot their officers" pic after we exposed them here on FR.Playing a joke? Real funny. Any website that shows a picture of our Troops that are torturing someone I can't have any sympathy for. None. They did that because it furthered their cause to Blame America First and show this country in a bad light. That it was a LIE didn't and won't ever matter to them. When I saw what your Indymedia did to the pic of the Goobers "We support our Troops when the shoot their officers" banner, I had my post removed and replaced it with an accurate one. The joke's on them/you, whatever.I thought they were playing a joke on FR. i've seen that pic in lots of places.
The recent story of the KKK appearance in Santa Fe and those protesting them seems to be missing some important information. While The "Knights of the White Camelia" were identified as being affiliated with the KKK the protesting group, the "United Concerned Neighbors" was not mentioned to be associated with the "International Socialist Organization."I hope the folks in Santa Fe will learn that Rona and David Smith, working as the "United Concerned Neighbors", follow a Socialist ideology, fight against conservative values and seek to change our way of life.
.
Best,
Jim XXXIVC
