Fair enough.
What happens to the 3 million Palestinians after this inevitable war is won? Do they become Israeli citizens, remain in the status quo, or are they resettled in another country?
President Bush has provided outstanding leadership in our War on Terrorism. I am prepared to follow his lead and judgement on the best way to resolve the Palestinian/Israel dilemma. They get resettled in their homeland: Jordan. Once the war starts, they will have squandered every other option they never deserved in the first place.
I agree with the first statement, but we can't ignore the Historical precedence for the President's success in the War on Terror: America the supreme temporal force for good, fights and defeats the great temporal evils (Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, Communist Soviet Union, and now, Islamic Expansionism), and makes the world a better place.
None of the President's success in the Historically well-precedented War on Terror, however, will mean there is any hope for success in the Historically refuted "road map."
The President's leadership in the WoT has been successful precisely because he followed the path of success indicated by History. If he chooses contrary paths, which History demonstrates must fail, there is no reason to follow him down those roads, regardless of whatever map he might draw.
