[history]
FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The federal prosecutor who played a leading role in an investigation of corruption in the General Assembly became Ernie Fletcher's new running mate today.
Stephen B. Pence, who last week resigned as U.S. attorney for the western half of Kentucky, was registered on Fletcher's Republican slate, according to forms filed with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance. The two candidates planned a joint news conference Monday morning in Lexington.

I also read that Don Bell has withdrew his candidacy to be Lt. Governor. Can anybody confirm?

Checking the news. Apparently Bell has irreconcilable differences with Virgil Moore and has stopped campaigning with him. He stated he chose to be Moore's campaign at a "weak moment." No mention if he has officially resigned from the ticket, but it looks like it is imminent. Moore's candidacy isn't going anywhere at the moment, and he'd probably be better off getting out and endorsing someone else. The momentum continues with Fletcher, all thanks to Nunn's despicable conduct.

Thanks for the information. It's too bad. Perhaps he should run again for congressman in the 4th district if the Republican estavblishment would pour some money in the race, though that field is getting to be real crowded.
