SPECIAL CONGRESSIONAL ALERT!
RECKLESS LAWSUIT PREEMPTION SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY VOTE!
H.R. 1036, the NRA-backed reckless lawsuit preemption legislation, has been scheduled for a vote this Wednesday, April 9 by the full U.S. House of Representatives. This critical reform seeks to put an end to the efforts of anti-gun extremists to drive law-abiding gun manufacturers into bankruptcy with their tactic of filing endless predatory lawsuits that have no merit. H.R 1036 currently has 251 cosponsors, more than a majority of U.S. Representatives, so the chance of it passing is strong. However, we can expect anti-gun lawmakers to do everything possible to derail this legislation, including offering amendments that would attempt to weaken or gut this measure.
Please be sure to call your U.S. Representative TODAY and urge him to support H.R. 1036 in its current form, and to oppose any amendments that would weaken or gut this critical legislative reform. ROTFLMAO! What usually happens with lowyers is that they try to tell me that the Constitution only means what the guys in black robes say it does. They see it all in terms of winning and losing. Sickoes.
For the here and now though I have to support what is going to get results. Maybe it is a trade off that condones the current system, but that is probably another discussion entirely.
There's a simple cure for this. :-)
Aristotle, in the Nichomachean Ethics, elaborated on the question of ends and means with an answer so clear and simple, it is a wonder that ends justification was ever mentioned again. He wrote (this is condensed out of a couple of paragraphs), No person selects an end unless it is a means to something else. There are no Ends. There are only means.I find the Constitution, it's development, and the associated history fascinating.
Ever looked into Peter Gay's writings on The Enlightenment?
I am getting the impression that our difference of opinion lies not in the base understanding of how our government should work...
Yup. It's all about how to get there. I think I found a way, but get started so that I can raise the capital my patent has to allow.
No, but on your recommendation I think I just might.

At first glance it is an interesting concept, but I haven't had a chance to think about it much. If you are in need of a devils advocate for your ideas, let me know - I have experience in the air quality field.
Having developed and qualified a zero VOC industrial coating process in three international jurisdictions including San Francisco Bay, I can commiserate.
What do you think of these people as "devils"?
