Over the long term, yes. For short periods it does not affect ordinary plumbing needs.
"INTELLIGENCE SOURCES"? [Jonah Goldberg]
Andrea Mitchell was on the Today Show this morning discussing the attack on Saddam. When she got to the tricky question of identifying what's left of what may or may not be Saddam, she said that we do have a DNA sample of Saddam's son-in-law. She said something like: "But intelligence sources tell me that's not a close enough relative for a match." Do we really need higher-ups in the CIA to tell us that Saddam Hussein's son-in-law doesn't have the same DNA?

And anyway, personal power generators are not going to somehow be hooked to the grid to power the sewage treatment plants.
The dipwad is emotionally hyperventilating and making up crises as he goes.

Sewage processing plants don't run on home generators. Neither do most heavy water pumps. A refigerator will, and a few other light appliances. From what my wife says, most middle-easterners are not too inconvenienced by lack of sewage. She lived in Cairo for two years, said the whole country smelled of raw sewage, it ran in the gutters.
