More booms (tanks firing maybe? mortars? artillery), and some small arms fire now too.

Does anybody have Direct TV hooked up to home theater with the Dolby Theater option? Yes, I'm running older Dolby 5.1 surround. It's okay, I really want to upgrade A/V receiver.

I have the pmsnbc cam for the sound and the ntv cam for the picture.

MSNBC bag cam is up. Too much sunlight glare. There is lots of background noise. Boom...boom

DirecTV doesn't do local HDTV stations. It'd take up WAY to much bandwidth right now (about 19.5Mbps per HDTV channel). The locals you're seeing through DirecTV are the analog stations that are converted to digital and VERY compressed.

Fox - Rick now doing urban foot patrol with the only Marine reservists unit in Iraq. The 3rd LAR wasn't getting enough action, so he transfered.

Correct, it's DIRECTV's version of local HDTV. Very compressed.
Not enough excitement, so Leventhal got them to transfer him to a unit doing urban foot patrol in Baghdad.

I love Charlie Brown..love that teacher sound. Very funny!

Report of John Loftus
WABC radio:
'Retired' Russian generals Atelov and Matsov
have been in charge of Iraqi command and control.
That is why no communications
from Iraqi command and control have been intercepted
since the start of the war.
The Russians have been directing everything.
The Russian convoy headed for Syria
with the Russian ambassador
was shot up
(30 minute gunfight)
because the secret communications equipment
was being taken out.
This equipment uses encryption
that connects with the Russian equivalent
of NSA.
When asked whether US forces seized any equipment
John Loftus said: "No comment".
With regard to the latest bomb on Saddam
Loftus said it was a 'sting' operation
again carried out by a Russian advisor.
Iraqis were attempting to see
if the US could intercept their underground communications
so they played an old tape
with Saddam arranging with his sons
to meet at a restaurant.
The US fell for the sting
and bombed the restaurant.
(The possibility of a 'sting'
apparently has been mentioned on Fox)
Loftus still maintains Saddam was killed
on the first night.

This is a switch for Rick, right? I wonder if he was assigned or asked to go with this unit. He sounds a bit freaked out, doesn't he?
To: amom
Sounded like a close one lobbed a few, then alternated with another not quite as loud...
Now my sound's gone out.
Leventhal: "We're walking the streets; so far we haven't been shot at."
