Anyone else think that the Fox interstitial graphics with the fighter jet dropping a bomb and turning into an eagle are just a bit over the top?In all honesty, I believe that graphic was made that way mainly to tweak the rest of the news media and left-wingers in general, not for the viewers' benefit. They gambled - correctly - that this war was going to push them way WAY out into first place, and they just wanted to twist the knife in a way they knew would drive the effete liberals NUTS.

I just got the fat tubby hugging guys on tape. Now, did y'all say they were on the scene of Saddamy taking a stroll around the neighborhood? Can you pinpoint for me where they are seen in the walkabout video?Saddam and a few goons climbed up on what looked like a table. There is a guy close to the camera. Look at him. Also there were a few others clearing the path for Saddam.

anyone know when they turn on the spot light on the bagcam? When they find another wounded Journalist to canonize.

The regime is protecting the journalists by placing snipers behind them and cameras. No doubt the journalists are comforted. They believe Baghdad Bob. They think we're the bad guys. They did not do their homework on Saddam. They did not read the instruction book:
DoD: Operational Guidelines for Embedded Media - Rules for Journalists and Reporters in Iraq
They were told to leave by the Pentagon...and if we accidentally hit one of them, it is Saddam's fault:
W WARNS OF THE WORST, John Podhoretz:
International law deals with the subject in just six words: "The taking of hostages is prohibited." Those six words constitute Article 34 of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons at Time of War.
By placing military targets in and around civilian areas, Saddam Hussein is taking the civilians in those areas hostage....

April 8, 2003 Release Number: 03-04-85
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UPDATE ON JOURNALISTS CAUGHT IN CROSSFIRE
CAMP AS SAYLIYAH, Qatar U.S. Central Command has received further clarification on two incidents of journalists being harmed during combat operations in Baghdad today.
The first incident involved reporters from Al Jazeera. According to commanders on the ground, Coalition forces came under significant enemy fire from the building where the Al Jazeera journalists were working and, consistent with the inherent right of self-defense, Coalition forces returned fire. Sadly, an Al Jazeera correspondent was killed in this exchange.
In the second incident, commanders on the ground reported that Coalition forces received significant enemy fire from the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad and, consistent with their inherent right of self defense, Coalition forces returned fire. Sadly, a Reuters and a Tele 5 (Spain) journalist were killed in this exchange.
Unfortunately, both of these buildings were being used by journalists reporting on the war.
These tragic incidents appear to be the latest example of the Iraqi regimes continued strategy of using civilian facilities for regime military purposes. The Coalition regrets the loss of innocent life and will continue its efforts to protect the innocent from harm.
To date, at least two journalists embedded with Coalition forces have also died as a result of enemy fire. These events serve as a tragic reminder of just how dangerous life is on the battlefield.
Coalition forces target only legitimate military targets and go to great lengths to minimize civilian casualties and damage to civilian facilities.

Just the fact that we are looking for Saddam says we have the ability to identify him, whole or in pieces. By now, we probably have all the doubles nailed, too.
We may have clothing from him from way back when and a talented dog, and then there's the barber of Baghdad who sold us his hair cuttings for 1 Mill and the plastic surgeon with the Saddam mold and the manicurist who kept the cuticle nippings.
We have lots of ways of identifying him, I'm sure.

The NTV BagCam was just showing tanks on a bridge. It looked live, but what do I know? Then they cut back to the craft fair.

is al-jazeera tv reporting that saddam is dead?
To: Timesink
Kelly's back on Fox......BTW he was on earlier. He talked to the tank commander who WAS FIRED UPON by Iraqis on the roof of the Baghdad Bob Hotel....He returned fire because he was BEING SHOT at. What do these freaking idiots think? The tank commander needs target practice or something? Give me a break! I've had it with these idiots. Can't we scramble their signals and say "oops, we thought it was Iraqi TV"? Okay, rant off.

msnbc has a day pic of the circle with an eerie red spot on the mosque and cbs is dark...can anyone explain? The MSNBC camera's aperture appears to be open wider, letting in more light.

I liked your post! I agree. Here's a hopeful sign, CNN admits we were defending ourselves:
"CAME UNDER SIGNIFICANT FIRE" [
Kathryn Jean Lopez]
In both the case of the Al Jazeera office in Baghdad and the Palestine hotel, U.S. troops were fired upon from those locations, and were forced to defend themselves, according to Pentagon officials, Barbara Starr from CNN is reporting.

CNN also reporting our Marines in Southeast Baghdad have taken Al jazeera prison, where they found U.S.-syle, desert camo uniforms with no I.D. on them. They were bloody. They have NO information about whose uniforms they might be. Running DNA tests now.
GOD please be with our POW's until we can get to them!
