Hope you are having a good day. I expect it to heat up around here later when it gets daylight in Iraq. Wonder what we have up our sleeves tonight?

Doing okay, Lion; hope all is well with you, as well and that you're having a good day.
Wonder what we have up our sleeves tonight?
I don't know, but it always happens while I'm asleep!!!!
To: nicmarlo
You probably can't do it but I go to sleep about 4 or 5 in the morning and get up at midday. All the big action seems to take place when most are asleep!

One thing they do very well is stick around where they're not wanted, like Herpes the economy could easily pull the left out of the fire by the next election if it doesn't at least come around slightly

This is article is simply great. And you know, I have been watching and listening to General Brooks almost daily and, until I read this article, I did not even notice that he was black. All I've noticed about him was that he has a star on his collar. He's a General in the United States of America military. I've been listening to General Brooks' war briefings on the radio every morning at 7AM on the way to work. I was very impressed with him. Not only in the way he spoke but the unflappable manner in which he handled the press. He was always professional and precise, never once allowing himself to be rattled. Had I not seen him on TV, I would never had thought that he was black. I don't know what I mean by that either. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is really no difference between blacks and whites. Both races can be be extremely intelligent and educated. Both races can produce very successful people who do credit to America. On the other hand, both races are equally capable of producing lazy bums as well. It all comes down to what you choose to make of yourself.
I think the Bush Administration has done a tremendous job in helping to erase the racial divide that has plagued this country for too many years. The Democrats love to talk the talk. But the Republicans have been walking the walk. Condoleeza Rice is our incredibly bright national security advisor. Colin Powell is a fine secretary of state. General Vincent Brooks is an outstanding example of the kind of officer our Army can produce. Clarence Thomas is sitting on the Supreme Court thanks to another Republican president. None of these fine Americans were brought into the administration to "fill a quota" or to placate race-baiters like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Instead, these people are filling very important roles in our government, our judicial system and our military. They are actually in charge of things and making things happen.
Racism has always been an ugly part of American history. It is people like Condi Rice, Colin Powell, General Brooks and Clarence Thomas who will ultimately relegate racism to our history books. It's about time.
