If they have felony records, then why are they allowed to vote at all?

Out here in Washington, if you do the crime and do the time successfully, your voting rights are restored. The only thing you can't get returned without a court hearing is your weapon rights. Which is silly to me, if you're rehabilitated enough to vote why not have a weapon for protection?
