Lou Grant was one of my favorite TV characters, ever.
But Ed Asner should keep his immoral mouth shut.

What anybody ever seen in actor Ed Asner I'll never know.
The guy has a mental disorder.

Isn't that a drag -- how often that happens? Lou Grant was a really wonderful character; Ed Asner is this immoral, clueless, pinhead.
My wife may very well have the best idea. She just purposefully, as a rule, doesn't try to access any interviews or profiles or anything about the media-types she enjoys. She's learned that, about 9.95 times out of 10, when she learns is disappointing at best, distracting and dismaying and destroying at worst.

Please keep repeating this through the next election, and beyond.

Ed could really impress me by taking his protesting to a communist country.

"august profession" my a**Through most of history the profession of acting was viewed as a sister or cousin to the profession of being a whore. This was partly because for an unemployed actor or actress, there was usually nothing they could actually do but remember lines and pretend on a stage, or in lieu of a paid part, perform the act that every creature from an insect to a human seems to instinctively know how to do.
Most actors are not very bright. The one talent they have, speaking clearly while convincingly pretending to be something or someone they are not, allows them to frequently pass as intelligent and informed. There have been exceptions but they are just that, exceptions to what seems to be a fairly hard and fast rule. Most actors are stupid frauds and Ed Asner is one of them

"He said years of economic sanctions and the effects of past U.S. strikes against the country have put the people in a tough position."
I'm sure he has the same warm feelings toward Castro for the identical reasons...

"The actors ought to be highly praised for speaking out," the Southern Illinoisan reported Asner saying this week. "It's ridiculous actors are the ones doing it." My thought exactly: why would one praise ridiculous actors?

It strikes me as unbelievable that no legislators or leaders are in the press for speaking out." Oh, Ed...
What about: Patty Murray (Osama Day-Care), Jim McDermott (Baghdad Jim), David Bonior (I'm with Jim), Charlie Rangel (renew the draft), Bob Kerry (regime change), Tom Daschle (deeply saddened), Jim Moran (blame the Jews).

Rangel claimed we are killing innocent civilians.

"He said years of economic sanctions and the effects of past U.S. strikes against the country have put the people in a tough position." #*(@&. The sanctions would have been lifted a LONG time ago if Saddam had cooperated.
The next guest speaker scheduled will be former Presidential candidate and U.S. Senator George McGovern. McGovern will be speaking to the SIU students on April 12.
At least they're fair and balanced, when choosing speakers. < \ sarcasm >

This question is so obscure that you may be the only person besides myself that remembers any of the particulars.
I seem to remember a story several years ago about Asner being ar rude, obnoxious, loudmouth who farts when talking to the crew who works on the sets of his WAAAAAY off Broadway shows he now is stuck doing.
Do you remember this story at all? I did a google search for it but came up with nothing and you would be surprised how many hits come up when you search "ed asner farting".

If he wants praise, then he needs to move to France and live happily ever after.
