From the beginning the Smart's seemed to be trying to follow a script made for them by LE. Some of the family were better than others at getting their part's right.

The one's that couldn't get the message across were dropped and finally we saw the the same few Smart family member's that could follow the script.

I don't think Tom was following his script and got himself off in wonderland somewhere. JMO.

Sorry, but you seem to have jumped on me earlier for scorning your "conspiracy theory" mentality, but you keep it up.

It's possible..and I don't see anything wrong with it. I just don't believe that the cops were in on the conspiracy..and if there is a conspiracy, the cops would darn well know it.
