Let's think about this for a second. There will inevitably movies and books about the ES affair. Conventional wisdom is tellling us that one of the things that got the Smart family thru this mess was their strong mormon faith. What better opportunity to show that and profit from that. What better way to spread the mormon family friendly attitude. Money will be made. So, yeah, I think the churches hierarchy is looking to profit from this.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will continue to grow and expand in its divinely mandated role long after these fools and the expiring churches to which they claim affiliation have gone their sorry way into the obscurity of others who have hated and contended against it in vain.

Indeed, the very idea that a religious organization -- which devotes virtually every dime of the billions of dollars it receives annually from the voluntary contributions of its members to the building of chapels, temples, universities, an a missionary effort whose success is without peer -- would consider as "a financial opportunity" the tithes from the few million dollars (at best) a family purportedly intends to make in royalties from the telling of their sad story is far beyond ludicrous and vile.
