The CNN reporter said that the statue would be blown up in a few minutes, and that the US soldiers seemed to be waiting for some more media to get in position. I'm sure this will be captured on tape for the world to see.
Also, it was stated that it is the statue situated in the heart of Baghdad, across from a viewing stand in the main parade grounds, directly between the iconic statues of crossed swords that stand at either end of the parade ground.

If this is not live, just go to this great pictorial display of the destruction of Soddomite statues, murals and paintings around Iraq posted by Indy Pendance.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/886829/posts SADDAM Hussein's images across Iraq are being crushed, blown up, pulled down and defaced by coalition soldiers in a symbolic campaign to topple the despot.
Advancing troops have been ordered to destroy the vast array of statues and portraits the Iraqi leader has installed as badges of his power.
Just as they stood as monuments to his influence over the nation, their destruction represents his demise and the new control being exerted in Iraq by the invading forces.
