It'll be a few hours before we actually get feet on the ground there, Not if reports are close to fact. We have friends or presence on the ground -now-.

Is that the district near the Grand Mosque? (NOT the Saddam Grand Mosque)

I have a friend who is a mild-mannered person. She has been advocating a platter parade with heads on platters to PROVE they are dead!! LOL!
She just messaged me about this strike and said that the platter parade was coming. I said there might not be anything left except a pink stain.
I can't believe she sent me back this answer:
"Gravy on the platter!"
LOLOL! She is really out for revenge!

Could have gotten out through tunnel.
But, think of how many tunnels and safe houses and bunkers all connected with tunnels you can practically build in a limited time secretly.
Just isn't a lot of room for the excavations and the dup-up dirt to go if you're in a residential neighborhood, and you'd need loooooong tunnels to get back to the government site bldg "exit" ... Unless nearby.
Also, a blast at one end of tunnel (big blast, blowing up deep as these were) blows down the tunnel and kills people, collapses its ceiling, or burns/buries the bodies in the tunnel.

Maybe they got him BOTH times.I agree. Newt, whether we got him "this particular time"...(^:
A whole industry of conspiracy theories is born.

I say we fedex a body part of Saddam's to every leader who threatens us, Im sure Kim Jong Il would get the picture is a couple fo Saddam's fingers showed up in a box on his doorstep
To: Green
wow...Brett says four 5,000 bombs Four 2.5 Nadlers, huh? a total of ten Nadlers! This guy really ticked somebody off...
To: TheLion
I was listening to that.....I guess they didn't want to take any chances. One would have done the job.I wonder if this place didn't have some bunkers underneith - perhaps even some tunnel connections, though I'd think that Saddam would have used the tunnels to get around as much as possible. I would think that this building was a hardened structure at any rate.

He said that Saddam would be hiding in a private house in a poorer neighborhood, a populated area.
Property values much lower in that neighbourhood now.

And...apparently they were able to move that B-1 into position almost immediately upon getting the report on the leadership meeting.
