Shock and Awe is not about destruction but about power. By demonstrating such might that an opponent is stunned into surrender, and by concentrating on matters that reduced the ability to resist, it combines military force with psychological warfare. Their book argued that "The ability to shock and awe rests ultimately in the ability to frighten, scare, intimidate and disarm".

Cuba Will Keep Baghdad Embassy Open

HAVANA (AP)--Cuba will keep its embassy open in Baghdad, the Foreign Ministry announced Monday, a day after Russia evacuated most of its embassy staff.

..Many of Baghdad's estimated 60 embassies--including those of Portugal, Spain, Thailand and Japan--pulled out their staff before the war began.

The Russian convoy of departing diplomats, including its ambassador, came under fire Sunday, injuring at least four people.
