What a toon. And he's getting paid. Network should just read this thread on air. Cheaper and more informative.

I think using blow and Saddam in the same sentence could be problematic for some. Especially in the post-Clinton era.

He was going on and on about how this would require delicate diplomacy and we must be magnanimous in defeat. (Since we have yet to defeat the current French and German governments, I personally don't think it is necessary.)I am glad to hear the President is standing firm. What the heck is "delicate diplomacy" anyway? That sounds like people afraid to have the liberated Iraqis let them know what they think of their support of Saddam.

That's the part that really cracked me up about that picture, too. That and where they placed (news-websites). I swear I didn't change it. That's how yahoo has it.

A bit of information - the Spanish reporter who was killed at the same time was the son of the well-known Spanish politician Julio Anguita, head of a hard left coalition named Izquierda Unida. He ran for president a few years ago and is a Communist who has been a feature of Spanish politics for years and years.
His son, the reporter, worked for the Spanish paper El Mundo, which is a paper that seems to have its own personal psychosis and expresses political positions all over the map (although usually really left wing).
Just some information, for what it's worth.

The Post notes that some American soldiers "said they planned to enjoy a shower in Saddam's palace." And that's a dang sight better shower than he'll be getting state-side. Why? Because the Saddam didn't have to deal with our out-of-control Federal shower nazis.
Buried in the numerous provisions of the 1992 Energy Policy Act was the requirement that manufacturers substantially reduce the water consumption of new toilets and showers by 1994. The new toilets cannot use more than 1.6 gallons per flush (gpf), less than half the 3.5 gpf of typical models. New shower heads must not emit more than 2.5 gallons per minute, also a sharp decline from what consumers had come to prefer. The stated purpose of these tough mandates is "to conserve water" through arbitrary limits on water consumption. Source: CEI, Competitive Enterprise Institute

That is one instance, I suppose, where I could turn a 'blind eye' if there were to be a few 'vatos'-turned-USMC from East LA, who decided to 'tag' those Saddam murals with some good old California 'homeboy' grafitti.
